Privacy policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
Your photos are family. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect when you order from zazsi, why, who helps us process it, and what your rights are.
Who we are
We are the data controller for the personal data described below.
What we collect
- Your photos and any text you give us (dedications, names, notes, music preferences).
- Contact details: your name and email address, and, if you order a gift, the recipient's name, your gift card message and the date you need it by. If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email, optional order number and your message by email.
- Order details: what you ordered, price, date, and messages between us.
- Payment details: payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We receive confirmation of payment and basic billing details.
- Technical data: our website remembers your light/dark choice in your browser. We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site. It collects anonymous usage data (pages viewed, approximate location, device type). You can block it with your browser settings or an ad blocker.
How we use it, and why
- To make and deliver your videos, gift page and card, and to talk to you about your order (needed to carry out our contract with you).
- To take payment, issue invoices and meet accounting and tax duties (legal obligation).
- To answer questions and handle complaints (contract, and our legitimate interest in running the service well).
We use your photos only to make your videos. We never sell them, and we never share them publicly or use them in our marketing, examples or social media without asking you and getting your permission first.
Who helps us process your data
We use trusted third-party services to run the business:
- Our own order form on this website to take your details and photos.
- Stripe for payments.
- Cloudflare Turnstile to protect our contact form from spam. It runs a short check in your browser and may process technical data such as your IP address and browser details.
- HawkHost to host this website and store order files.
- Email to send order confirmations and deliver your videos ([email protected]).
- AI tools provided by third parties to help create the animations. Your photos may be sent to these tools only for the purpose of producing your videos. Every result is reviewed by a person before delivery.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens we rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
- Photos and videos: deleted 12 months after delivery, or sooner if you ask us to.
- Invoices and payment records: kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Emails and order messages: kept for up to 12 months after delivery, unless needed longer to resolve a dispute.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to: access your data; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; and receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), cnpd.pt, or to the authority in your own country.
Photos of other people
You confirm you own the photos or have the right to use them, including photos of family members and of people who have passed away. See our terms. If a person pictured asks us to delete a photo, we will.
Children
Our service is for adults. You may upload family photos that include children, but we only collect contact details from the adult placing the order.
Security
We keep your files in access-controlled storage and share them only with the providers listed above. Gift pages use a private link that is not listed anywhere. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care to protect your data.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
